Fishing Report Week Ending 9 April 2017

The weather was good at the end of last week. It made for great fishing conditions. A few browns between the five to seven pounds were caught on c/r. Also a few rainbows in that size were also caught on c/r by the visiting clubs. The heather hills is still the place to be. Why that area is holding so much fish for so long is a mystery. There must be a food source, so we assume that the buzzers must be coming of there in numbers. The most consistent method was with a midge tip line, and using the washing line method, of a booby on the point. Then a cruncher and diawl bach on the droppers, fished static. The wind is to pick up this week, so that might change things . Another big stocking of blues are due this week. We love the blues and so do the anglers. They are great trout to look at and real heavy weights at the fighting. Good catches this week, Billy McGranagan 9 on c/r on crunchers, St. Johns 6 for 15lb and 48 on c/r, Dunfermline Artisans 20, G. Picken 7 on c/r on humungus, C. Stoneley 3 for 6.4lb and 7 on c/r.
