Fishing Report Week Ending 19 March 2017

The season has started great with some big catches. The weather has been so mixed that it might have put the fish off. But the trout are still being caught all over the Loch. In fact it is bubbling with fish at the moment. There is a lot of big, and we mean double figure big fish, with tails like shovels cruising about at the moment. Because they have had a break for most of the winter, they seem to be throwing caution to the wind at the moment and taking anglers flies at all depths. Small Lures and cormorants seem to be the best fly. With the black and green combination doing well. In the last two weeks we have had over 11 double figure trout safely returned on catch and release tickets. As the anglers were on catch and release we don't know the exact weight. But it looks like it is going to be a bumper season. With the trophy fish of a lifetime for some anglers. The hot spots are everywhere and in the top four feet of water. We have over two ton of blues ordered for this years stocking. So be ready for grumpy, hard fighting fish that will not want to meet you. Can you rise to the challenge? We are also very pleased to be hosting a heat of the Sierra pars competition this year. Please register with them and get your date and boat booked in at the Loch. With a chance to win huge prizes in the final. Contact Alex on 07527 254811 for all your bookings.
